Team Suzuki Press Office – June 29.
The final weekend of June and the first weekend of July sees Team SUZUKI ECSTAR on track at Assen in The Netherlands for round 8 of the MotoGP™ World Championship with Andrea Iannone and Alex Rins putting their GSX-RR machinery in strong 2nd and 9th places respectively in this afternoon’s FP2.
In Australia, it’s round 4 of Australian Superbikes with Josh Waters and Team SUZUKI Ecstar Australia Rookie Markus Chiodo hoping to improve on their 4th and 13th positions in the series with their GSX-R1000 machinery; while in America, it’s round 6 of the AMA Motocross series at Southwick, where Justin Bogle makes his return from a 6-month injury and back in the saddle of his Autotrader Yoshimura Suzuki Factory Racing RM-Z450.
July 1:
Round 8. MotoGP™. TT Circuit of Assen. The Netherlands. Alex Rins and Andrea Iannone are looking strong in the opening day of practice and aiming to continue tomorrow in FP3 and the all-important Qualifying to determine good positions on their GSX-RR Suzuki’s for Sunday’s race. Iannone currently holds 9th in the points with Rins 12th.
June 30-July 1:
Round 4. Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK). Hidden Valley. Darwin. Australia. In 2017, Josh Waters dominated the event, taking the round win on his way to the series title aboard his GSX-R1000, while Markus Chiodo showed impressive speed on the 2.87km circuit, which features 14 corners and one of the longest straights on the calendar at 1.1km.
June 30-July 1:
Lucas Oil AMA Pro MX Championship. Southwick. MA. Justin Bogle will make a welcome return to the series following his injury in the AMA/ FIM World Supercross Championship 6 months ago. He will be joined aboard the Autotrader Yoshimura Suzuki Factory Racing Suzuki RM-Z450 by Weston Peick and Justin Hill, who impressed with 5th and 7th places, in his debut at the previous rounds after moving-up from the 250 class.
