Autotrader/ Yoshimura Suzuki

In August of 2017, Suzuki Motor of America, Inc. (SMAI) announced the formation of the Autotrader/ Yoshimura/ Suzuki Factory Racing Team and for 2018, the team is setting its sights on the Monster Energy AMA Supercross and Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship Series in both the 450 and 250 classes.

The team has become an expansion of the relationship that was formed in the 2016 off-season between Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) and Suzuki. As such, it will operate as the primary factory level effort. The Autotrader/ Yoshimura/ Suzuki Factory Racing Team will field two riders in the 450 class, and four riders in the 250 class.

Weston Peick returns for his fourth year on the team. He, along with newcomer Justin Bogle, will compete in the 450 class. Defending 250 Western Regional Supercross Champion Justin Hill and the returning Phil Nicoletti will contest the 250 West Supercross series. First year Autotrader/ Yoshimura/ Suzuki Factory Racing Team riders Jimmy Decotis and Kyle Peters will anchor the racing efforts in the 250 East Supercross series.

The team was founded by Coy Gibbs, son of NFL Pro Football Hall of Fame Head Coach Joe Gibbs, who has won three Super Bowls, four NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series Championships and four NASCAR XFINITY Series Championships.

The team made its debut on January 5th, 2008 in Anaheim, California at the opening round of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship.
